Tynedale Methodist Circuit
Wylam Methodist Church is part of the Tynedale Methodist Circuit which comprises of 23 Churches stretching from Haltwhistle in the west to Wylam in the east, from Kielder in the north to the Allen Valleys in the south. It is served by a team of six ministers, who are supported in the leading of worship by local preachers. The churches range from tiny traditional congregations in small villages to large town churches, and one that meets in a castle.
By sharing resources and supporting one another, the Circuit encourages all the Churches, whatever their size, in mission and supports new initiatives in worship, service and mission.
Wylam and District Churches
Wylam Methodist Church is in a covenant relationship with three other churches – St Oswin’s Parish Church, Wylam, Horsley Village Church, and St Agnes Roman Catholic Church, Crawcrook.
We are committed through this covenant to united worship and shared mission and service. Thus, we worship together at Easter, Pentecost, Christmas, and Harvest, on Remembrance Sunday, during the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity, and in Christian Aid Week. Together we employ and support a children’s and young people’s worker, who leads groups at Wylam First School, Wylam Methodist Church, and the annual summer holiday club. The Churches also come together for an ecumenical Lent Course, and for other social and fund raising events.
